After the United States women’s hockey team was mocked by President Trump, rap icon Flavor Flav stepped up to throw a party for them in Las Vegas.
Trump called into the locker room for the United States’ men’s hockey team after they defeated Canada for their first gold medal in 46 years.
As FBI director Kash Patel partied with the men’s team, Trump called in and invited the men to the White House and the State of the Union on Tuesday.
On the phone, Trump told the players, ‘We have, I must tell you, we are going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that. I do believe I would probably be impeached (if he didn’t invite them).’
The men’s players laughed at the joke and instantly accepted the invitation. An invitation was later offered to the women’s team, which was declined.
On Monday, the rap star – whose real name is Williams Jonathan Drayton Jr – shared an invitation he sent to the women to party it up with him in Sin City.

The rapper’s invite comes after President Trump mocked the women’s team while celebrating the men’s hockey team’s similar accomplishment on Sunday afternoon
‘If the USA Women’s Hockey team wants a real celebration and invite ,,, I’ll host them in Las Vegas. Do some nice dinners and shows and good times. I’m sure I can get a hotel and airline to help me out here and celebrate these women for real for real,’ he posted to his X account.
Later, Flavor Flav then shared a screenshot of an e-mail with a formal invitation to the women’s team.
‘I am reaching out on behalf of Flavor Flav. First, massive congratulations on the gold!!’ the email he shared on X read. ‘We saw the story about the men’s invite to the White House, and the not quite invite for the women’s team.
‘Flav recently posted on social media an idea and invite for the women’s hockey team to Las Vegas for a real celebration. He always stands behind everything he says and does. If there is an interest for the team to come to Las Vegas and celebrate with Flav – we will figure it out on our end and make it a lovely experience.’
Flavor Flav has long been a supporter of women’s sports, having previously shown love for the US women’s rugby team at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
At those games, he also helped to pay off the rent of discus thrower Veronica Fraley, who was struggling financially.
‘I gotchu, DM me and I’ll send payment TODAY so you don’t have to worry bout it TOMORROW, and imma be rooting for ya tomorrow LETZ GO!’ Flavor Flav posted on X at the time.
When the women’s team declined the invitation, a spokesperson cited prior commitments as a reason for not attending the speech.

Meanwhile, the women have won three gold medals in the time it took the men to win one
‘We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal-winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement,’ USA Hockey told NBC News.
‘Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate.
‘They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment.’
The women’s hockey team also defeated Canada in overtime to win the gold medal. It’s the third gold medal the women won in the time it took the men to win one.
