- The Rams overcame their offensive struggles to beat the 49ers on Thursday
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford briefly lost his cool on Thursday night as his team played the 49ers.
LA, badly needing a win at 7-6 to improve their playoff hopes, struggled to get their offense going throughout the entire night and finished without a touchdown.
And after the Rams settled for a game-tying field goal early in the fourth quarter, Stafford was visibly upset as he gesticulated towards coach Sean McVay.
Stafford briefly looked at a tablet, which presumably had a play on it, before raising his arms in frustration.
McVay then signaled for Stafford to calm down and the moment appeared to die down.
Ultimately, the Rams won ugly in San Francisco as they beat their California rivals 12-6 – with the hosts faring even worse on offense and totaling just 191 yards.

It’s been a challenging few years for McVay and Co. since they won the Super Bowl in 2022, as they went 5-12 the following season and lost in the wild card last postseason to the Lions.
Nonetheless, they’re firmly in the playoff hunt now at 8-6 and end the regular season against their NFC West foes the Seahawks.
The 49ers, meanwhile, all but had their playoff hopes dashed as they fell to 6-8.
It’s been a miserable season for the reigning NFC champions as Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk have missed much of the year with injuries.
San Francisco’s next three games against the Dolphins, Lions and Cardinals can all now be considered must-wins.
