A woman whose body was found in a lake has been described as “a guiding light” who was “cherished” by her family.

Rachel Booth, 38, who was also known as Rachel Langley, disappeared in the early hours of Saturday from her home in Barnton, Cheshire.

Cheshire Police, which found her body on Monday about eight miles (13km) away in a lake in Oakmere, said her death was not being treated as suspicious.

Rachel’s family said her smiles were “a memory we will treasure forever”.

The family statement added: “As a family we would also like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to all the services and business that supported Cheshire Police and their officers during the search for Rachel.

“Rachel, who was known to us as Helena, was a cherished member of our family.

“Her kindness was constant and her presence a strength to everyone she knew.

The statement described her as “a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister who can never be replaced” who would always be “present in our hearts”.
