Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City will kick off their Champions League last-16 second legs at the same time as the presence of a record six Premier League sides in the draw led to a jam-packed schedule for the English clubs.

On Tuesday 17th March, Arsenal play Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea face Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City renew their rivalry with Real Madrid, with all three ties kicking off at 8pm GMT and taking place in England.

In the first legs, Liverpool will go to Galatasaray in the earlier kick-off on Tuesday 10th March before Atletico Madrid host Tottenham and Newcastle welcome Barcelona to St James’ Park in the later slots.

The following night, Manchester City will also be in Spanish capital to play 15-time champions Real Madrid in the knockout stages for the fifth season in a row, while Chelsea go to holders Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have the early slot for their trip to Leverkusen.

A week later, three English sides will kick off at the same time in a knockout triple-header, before Newcastle play Barcelona on Wednesday 18th March in the earlier kick-off. Liverpool and Tottenham then host Galatasaray and Atletico, respectively.

As Arsenal and Manchester City play on the same nights, they will have the same preparation time before they meet in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday 22 March at Wembley Stadium, the first shot for both teams at a possible four trophies this season.

But the Premier League title rivals both face the prospect of three games in six days before then. West Ham will host City on Saturday 15th March, while Arsenal’s home match against Everton will be rescheduled to also take place on that day, sandwiched between the Champions League last-16.

Arsenal, who boasted the best record in the league phase to qualify as top seeds, were handed perhaps the most favourable draw of the six English sides. The Gunners would not need to face any of PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City or Liverpool before the final if they are to reach a first Champions League showpiece since 2006.
