Pep Guardiola parties with the Gallagher family backstage before Oasis comeback gig – as he rocks a retro Man City shirt

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola partied backstage with the Gallagher family ahead of Oasis’ comeback gig in their hometown of Manchester.

Thousands more fans crammed into Heaton Park on Friday night to get a glimpse of the all-time iconic band, a matter of days after 75,000 more watched history be made as Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, appeared for the first time on stage together in 16 years.

The once-warring Gallagher brothers have proved their years-long feud is well and truly behind them as they embark on a tour that not many saw coming, and have regularly been hand-in-hand at gigs in the early days of the tour.

Throughout their set, they have wowed fans with a whole litany of their top hits, including Some Might Say, Morning Glory and, of course, Wonderwall.

And one of the fans in attendance on Friday just so happened to be the manager of the football team the two men support. Guardiola, who has been in charge at City since 2016, was a guest – and in more ways than one.

Wrapping their arms around each other back stage at Heaton Park on Friday, Liam and Noe’s children posed for a snap, with Liam’s youngest child, Gene, 24, sharing the photo to Instagram.

He was joined by his brother Lennon, 25, and cousins, Noel’s daughter Anais, 25, and his sons Donovan, 17, and Sonny, 14.

Also in the picture was Guardiola, and Gene captioned the photo: ‘Pic of the century, alright? now everyone els (sic) f*** off.’

Notably missing from the picture was Liam’s daughter, Molly, 27.

Oasis were set to play in front of 80,000 people in their home city of Manchester.  The shows at Heaton Park – a 600-acre public park in Bury and Manchester – are the only UK shows held outside a stadium, with the others taking place at the Principality Stadium, Wembley and Murrayfield.

Fans started queuing hours before the gates opened at Heaton Park with attendees facing a 90-minute wait for trams at Victoria Station.

People were seen camped out as the queue formed by the side of the road, with a sea of camp chairs and bucket hats.

With temperatures of 28 degrees in Manchester, roasting hot revellers were seen fanning themselves or sheltering from the sun under umbrellas.

Excited fans were seen gathering in huge crowds as they awaited the gates opening for the show.

And to their delight, they did open early – with fans able to get into the park to get a good spot for the show, five hours ahead of the band taking to the stage.

During the concert, the band erected a cardboard cutout of Guardiola, who has delivered City the Champions League and six Premier League titles.

A large logo of the Manchester City crest was also on the stage.

Liam at one point encouraged spectators into attendance to perform the Poznan dance, urging Manchester United fans to join in because they have ‘not had a lot to celebrate recently’.

In the photo with the brothers’ children, the Spaniard donned a retro Manchester City shirt as he prepares to try and win back the top flight title they lost to Liverpool last season.

He also posed with musician Richard Ashcroft and appeared in good spirits, donning denim jeans and an Oasis pass around his neck.
