Patrick Mahomes has claimed his wife Brittany is ‘just as competitive’ as him as he gushed about his wife in a new interview.
While the Chiefs quarterback and three-time Super Bowl winner has had a historic start to his NFL career, Brittany was formerly an athlete in her own right as well as the pair attended Whitehouse High School together.
The now mom-of-three starred as a soccer player at the Texas school and later went on to play collegiately at the University of Texas at Tyler. She even played professionally for one season in Iceland.
And while her soccer (playing) career is now over, her husband recognizes that their shared competitiveness is a major boon for their marriage.
‘There’s no better feeling than having someone by your side who is just as competitive as you and supports you in everything you do,’ the quarterback told People.
He added of their time together in high school: ‘Whether it was her in soccer or me in football or baseball, we both understood the level of commitment it takes.’

Aside from raising their three children together, Brittany and Patrick have also teamed up as co-owners of NWSL team the KC Current, who debuted in March 2024.
The couple welcomed their most recent child, Golden Raye, back in January, and Patrick recently beamed about how his wife handled the pregnancy of the couple’s second daughter.
‘Brittany crushed it. I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went to labor after one game,’ he recalled in a clip of new ESPN documentary ‘The Kingdom’ which aired on the latest episode of ‘Good Morning America.’
‘Baby was here before the next game, so I didn’t even miss a playoff game. So, she is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.’
The couple welcomed their first child, Sterling Skye, in 2021 before their son, Patrick III (‘Bronze’) was born the following year.
Brittany and Patrick also got married in March 2022 after his Chiefs lost to the Bengals in the AFC Championship.

Back in July, the family-of-five enjoyed some time together in Mexico ahead of yet another grueling NFL season.
In one photo, a beaming Mahomes sat alongside his wife and their children on the couch of their vacation home in one of the pictures and held Golden Raye up for the photo.
In another, the Chiefs passer was seen holding hands with Bronze as they walked down a path on the holiday resort.
Mahomes is now back training with the Chiefs as they prepare for their first game of the season on September 5.
He played sparingly in Kansas City’s preseason opener against the Cardinals last week, and did not appear against the Seahawks on Friday.
