Owen Farrell has been named on the bench for the Lions’ potential series decider against the Wallabies after Andy Farrell was forced into last-minute midfield changes.

Sione Tuipulotu is suffering from a tight hamstring and Garry Ringrose is suffering from concussion, meaning Bundee Aki and Huw Jones will start together in the centres.

With three changes to the starting line-up, Andy Farrell selected nine Irish players in his starting XV.

Prop Andrew Porter has been selected ahead of Ellis Genge, while lock Ollie Chessum has replaced the injured Joe McCarthy.

Tuipulotu has been left out of the matchday 23, with Alex Mitchell, Farrell and Blair Kinghorn providing backline cover on the bench.

Welshman Jac Morgan has also been named on the bench.

Head coach Andy Farrell said: said: ‘We have put ourselves in a good position after the First Test, but we know there will be a massive reaction from this Wallaby team.

‘Everyone saw the quality they have in Brisbane and we know we will have to be a lot better than we were last week.

‘The opportunity to play in front of 100,000 supporters at the MCG, one of the world’s most iconic stadiums, is what makes Lions Tours unique and special.

‘And we know our Lions supporters will get behind the team on Saturday and create a fantastic atmosphere.’
