Stockport County have signed Owen Dodgson from Burnley on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent move next summer.
The 22-year-old left-sided player, who can be deployed as either a defender or as a wide midfielder, spent the second half of last season on loan at Burton Albion.
He was an ever-present in the side as the Brewers preserved their League One status in the penultimate match of the season.
Dodgson, who is yet to make his senior debut for Burnley, becomes the Hatters’ seventh signing of the summer and is available to make his debut against Bolton Wanderers at Edgeley Park on Sunday.
“We are delighted to welcome Owen to the club. He’s a player that has been on our radar for some time,” County boss Dave Challinor told the club website., external
“Hopefully now he can find a long-term home where he can settle, develop and really kick-start his career. He arrives in decent shape fitness-wise and is available to be involved immediately for us.”
