Yorkshire went into their game at Scarborough ahead of Somerset and Middlesex on run rate only at the top of Group B but lost in-form Imam-ul-Haq for 22 in the ninth over, when he tried to pull a ball from Ben Raine and gloved to the keeper.
The innings was lifted by a stand of 88 between Will Luxton (46) and James Wharton, the latter then adding 101 in just 10 overs with Bean before he was yorked by Raine for 84.
Bean, though, continued to go for his shots and brought up his century with a single off Raine and was 102 not out from 57 balls when their innings came to an end.
Any hopes Durham had of chasing their target were eroded when Ben Coad quickly removed openers Alex Lees and Emilio Gay and they slumped to 48-6.
George Drissell made 46, but they were all out for 142 in the 36th over when Jack White had Cody Yusuf lbw to return figures of 3-24.
Warwickshire maintained their hopes of a top-three finish as they outplayed Lancashire – who have won only one game.
George Bell (46) and Kesh Fonseka (43) gave the Red Rose some early momentum, but although Marcus Harris (41) also made a useful contribution, no-one could produce the big innings needed to propel them to a sizable score.
Taz Ali took 3-39 as the home side were restricted to 249-9 despite 40 off 30 balls by Arav Shetty and, although paceman Jack Blatherwick (4-48) stood out, they did not have enough runs in the bank.
Zen Malik reached 50 off 39 balls with a six over mid-wicket off George Balderson before becoming Blatherwick’s final victim on 72.
Hamza Shaikh weighed in with 75 before being bowled by Luke Hands as Warwickshire cruised to 253-5 with 10.1 overs to spare.
