Emily Seebohm appears to have moved on from former MAFS partner and the father of her child Ryan Gallagher after being spotted getting cosy with a new man at a basketball match in Brisbane.

The Australian swimming star has competed at four Olympic Games (2008–2021), winning seven medals, including three golds.

She has also earned 15 World Championship medals and set multiple world records in backstroke events.

Seebohm announced her retirement from competitive swimming in 2024 after a 17-year international career.

She also appeared on several reality TV shows after her swimming career, including I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2021 and The Challenge Australia in 2022.

Ryan Gallagher first gained fame on Married at First Sight Australia in 2018, and the pair met while filming The Challenge Australia, where their relationship began.

Former Australian Olympian Emily Seebohm recently stepped out at a National Basketball League match in Brisbane and made an eye-catching Instagram post

They got engaged in March 2023 and have a son together named Sampson, but reportedly split in early 2024, with Seebohm saying they had grown apart.

Seebohm attempted to make the Olympics for a record fifth time after Sampson’s birth, but fell just short.

Now it appears she has found a new romance, with a subtle photo posted online after a night out at the basketball.

Seebohm, a proud Queenslander, was at a Brisbane Bullets NBL match against the Tasmania JackJumpers, sharing pics from her courtside experience as part of the Coors Champions Club.

‘The perfect spot for the game,’ she posted.

Among the images of the game, Seebohm also included a sneaky image of her holding hands with a mystery man.

The former Olympian was spotted seating courtside beside the hoop at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, wearing a Brisbane Bullets singlet and jeans, and sitting alongside an unidentified man.

While Seebohm has yet to publicly reveal who her companion is, the sneaky post could mean the couple are heading for a hard launch.

Seebohm has been balancing motherhood, single life and a world outside of the Olympics

Seebohm has been balancing motherhood, single life and a world outside of the Olympics

Seebohm has been busy in recent weeks, also having several tattoos from her sporting days removed.

It will be long process, with Seebohm looking to have up to eight pieces of ink taken off, with a six-week break in between appointments.

But there is one special tattoo that will be spared from the laser removal process: the Olympic rings.

‘Oh that one is staying forever,’ Seebohm said.

In the meantime, she is currently focusing on motherhood and enjoying life after officially retiring from competitive swimming.

She has been reflecting on her career with mixed emotions but is finding new purpose and freedom in her new chapter.

‘I think if I didn’t have that [motherhood], I wouldn’t have as much purpose as what I do now,’ she said earlier this year.

‘I can live freely because I’m not stressing on my purpose anymore.’
