While the fictionalWhite Lotus hotel chain is surely struggling to entice guests, HBO is having no issues in recruiting acclaimed stars to join the cast of the upcoming fourth season.
It’s already been revealed that the next series of Mike White’s hit dark-comedy drama will see wealthy holidaymakers check into a French outpost of the luxury lodgings and HBO has now unveiled three stars who are expected to play locals or hotel staff members.
Vincent Cassel, who appeared in 2004’s Ocean’s Twelve and the 2007 follow-up Ocean’s Thirteen, leads the new additions – in what will mark a rare TV role for the 59-year-old.
On the big screen, Cassel has won praise for appearances in many French films and won a César – France’s version of an Oscar – for his portrayal of criminal Jacques Mesrine in a 2008 biopic.
His English-speaking credits include Black Swan and HBO’s dystopian drama Westworld.
He’ll be joined by Corentin Fila and Nadia Tereszkiewicz, who are both also acclaimed actors in their native France.
HBO confirmed the castings on the show’s Instagram account, with a post captioned: “New reservations continue to fill up.”
While showrunner Mike White is keeping the character details and plot under wraps, it was previously confirmed that the ensemble cast will also include Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan and Chris Messina (The Mindy Project, Sharp Objects).
Newcomers Caleb Jonte Edwards and Dylan Ennis, model Marissa Long and Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig will also be checking in, alongside Sandra Bernhard (Marty Supreme, Severance), Ari Graynor (The Bad Teacher, Monster) and AJ Michalka, who is best known as one half of the musical duo AJ & Ally.
The critically-acclaimed White Lotus first aired in 2021. Its inaugural six-episode run saw a host of rich vacationers – played by the likes of Sydney Sweeney and Jennifer Coolidge – check in to the titular hotel in Hawaii, where their five-star trips were ruined by a series of increasingly unusual events, climaxing in a death.

Just three actors have appeared in multiple seasons, with Coolidge reprising her role as ditzy millionaire Tanya McQuiod for the second run in Sicily.
Her fellow series one stars Jon Gries and Natasha Rothwell then returned as the mysterious Greg Hunt and masseuse Belinda Lindsey in the third series, set and filmed in Thailand.
Filming for the fourth season is reportedly set to begin in the South of France and Paris next month, with an air date yet to be confirmed.
