  •  Halfback has represented NSW and Australia

NRLW star Maddie Studdon has been charged with domestic violence-related stalking following the breakdown of her relationship with her girlfriend, who told police she was terrified the footballer would kill her.

The high-profile St George Illawarra Dragons halfback, 31 appeared in a Sydney bail court via audio-visual link from Surry Hills Police Station on Wednesday morning.

Court documents alleged that Studdon became ‘fixated’ after her three-year relationship broke down, following Studdon’s ex commencing a relationship with a man.

Detectives alleged that Studdon contacted her ex by calling her on private number 29 times, plus emails and bank transfers.

‘Check msgs, enjoy the d***,’ one message from Studdon said, according to court documents.

‘Can stop being suss and own up. You make m e [sic] go off cause what you’re doing.’

Police also allege Studdon approached her former partner outside her home, attempted to get in her car and punched the side of the vehicle as she called 000.

Studdon was charged with stalking/intimidation with the intention of fear or physical harm (DV) and using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

It also follows a previous domestic violence conviction from 2015.

Additionally, police applied for an apprehended domestic violence order due to  Studdon allegedly making a ‘throat-slitting’ gesture to her one-time partner.

She has entered not guilty pleas and was granted bail – but is forbidden from accessing social media.

Studdon, who has also been on the books of Sydney Roosters, Parramatta and Cronulla in the NRLW, is due to appear back in Downing Centre Local Court next month.
