Reds rejuvenated?

Are Liverpool back?

Sounds like a crazy question, I know, but hear me out.

Now, obviously, their win against Brighton in the FA Cup last week doesn’t mean that Liverpool are suddenly back to their best. Far from it.

However, to dispatch of a dangerous Seagulls side – albeit who have struggled this season – is pretty impressive. They made it look comfortable, and could have easily bagged four or five in the end.

The Reds have won four of their last five games, and that defeat was against Manchester City, a game you could argue they didn’t deserve to lose.

Things finally look like they might be turning around for Arne Slot and his team, which is a good sign for the rest of the season.

However, it feels like we have been here before. Like when they beat Real Madrid and Aston Villa in back-to-back games, then their form fell off a cliff. It’s been one step forward, two steps back all season.

The champions need to find some consistency, and a win at the City Ground would show they mean business going into the last portion of the season.

As they know, though, that’s easier said than done.
