Big Business Entrepreneurs (BBE) is calling for greater support to help small business owners across the North East unlock the region’s economic potential.
The region combines a proud industrial legacy with considerable untapped entrepreneurial opportunity, which BBE argues could be activated through improved support systems for local enterprises.
While the North East includes vibrant cities and established manufacturing sectors, it has just 211,605 businesses, placing it 11th among the UK’s 12 regions in terms of business population.
Adam Stott, Founder of Big Business Entrepreneurs, said: “These figures underline the need for targeted support to help small firms grow, adopt digital monetisation strategies and build resilience.
“Business coaching, mentoring and strategic skills development could play a transformative role in enabling founders to scale, increase productivity and strengthen the regional economy, particularly in areas where business density remains low.”
BBE highlights the importance of equipping founders with practical tools to overcome growth barriers, including improving social media monetisation and updating marketing strategies to increase revenue.
Adam Stott added: “Coaching accelerates learning, reduces the time wasted on trial and error, and helps entrepreneurs across the North East scale faster and more efficiently. This region has incredible people and potential – with structured support, thousands more could turn great ideas into thriving businesses.”
