Medal of honour, mayor, nomination

Nominations sought for Cheltenham residents who give their time to help others or work to help make Cheltenham a better place to live.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Cheltenham Medal of Honour. The medal recognises the voluntary contribution that local residents have made to their communities.

The nominations are considered by an independent panel and all information is treated on a confidential basis. The award is presented during the Inauguration of the Mayor ceremony which will be held on 18 May 2026 at the Town Hall at 6.30 pm.

The Medal of Honour recipient for 2025 was Brenda Booker, for her voluntary work with the Cheltenham Mental Health Carers Support Group.

Mayor of Cheltenham, Councillor David Willingham, says: “Our community is blessed with incredible individuals who generously invest their time in uplifting others and enhancing our quality of life in Cheltenham.

“The medal of honour is a vital tribute to those who truly impact our society by making a difference. Please be sure to nominate those around us who make change for the better.”

For more information on the scheme and a nomination form, contact Jennie Ingram, Cheltenham Medal of Honour Committee, Municipal Offices, Promenade, Cheltenham GL50 9SA, or call 01242 264108.

The closing date for nominations is 13 March 2026. Nominations can be submitted online.
