Kyle Van Noy has stunned fans by revealing he hired a private investigator to uncover the truth about the biological family he has never met.
The two-time Super Bowl champion, who was adopted as an infant in 1991, made the decision ‘about four years ago’ to break through his sealed adoption files.
In a bombshell update, while on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast, the 35-year-old linebacker admitted that he now knows who his one living parent is.
‘I won’t disclose everything, but it was pretty cool to find out all that information,’ Van Noy told Tucker during the Tuesday episode of the show.
The veteran defender revealed that while he has successfully located his biological mother and siblings, they currently have no idea that he has found them.
‘I know I have siblings elsewhere. They don’t know. This could be a whole thing,’ Van Noy explained regarding the sensitive nature of the discovery.

He admitted to feeling a strange sense of connection from afar, noting: ‘I kind of want to end up doing something with it because they don’t know I know.’
Van Noy was originally placed for adoption in 1991 through LDS Family Services and was raised in Reno, Nevada, by his adoptive parents, Layne and Kelly Van Noy.
The NFL star has always spoken highly of his upbringing, crediting his adoptive father for instilling the tireless work ethic that led him to pro football.
He jokingly recalled his parents picking him at the hospital, telling Patriots.com in 2021: ‘You guys got lucky! Out of all the babies, you picked an NFL player.’
Despite the deep bond with his adoptive family, Van Noy felt a growing curiosity as he aged, specifically regarding his medical history and physical traits.
He realized he was adopted as a young child when he noticed that his towering height was the only physical characteristic he shared with Layne and Kelly.
‘Just to see what someone looks like if they’re half of me,’ he explained as the motivation for seeking out his biological blood relatives, during the same interview.

When asked if he planned to finally open the door and initiate contact with his siblings or living parent, the linebacker replied with a cautious ‘to be continued.’
He acknowledged the life-changing gravity of making that first phone call, stating: ‘Once that door is open, you can’t close it,’ as he weighs the next step.
