A.J. Brown has made a stunning admission regarding his tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles, confessing that he deliberately fed stories to the media while there.
Brown, who spent three highly productive seasons in Philadelphia, recently severed ties with the franchise after finalizing a trade to the New England Patriots.
Less than a week on from the trade, the 28-year-old has made a shocking revelation about his time in Philadelphia, while on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast.
While Brown chose not to specify whether he acted as the primary source for the anonymous locker-room leaks, he explained the intent behind his actions.
‘It was done purposely to give us a push,’ Brown admitted during the interview. ‘I knew if I said something in the media, it’s going to propel us to work harder.’
The star wideout firmly defended his controversial approach to team accountability.

Brown, who traded to the Patriots, confessed that he fed stories to the media while in Philly
‘If you say what you need to say to the media… it gives everything legs to push everyone to be better,’ Brown added. ‘Because pressure isn’t always a bad thing, it can be a good thing. Honestly, I felt like it was OK to do.’
The bombshell admission comes immediately on the heels of a massive shakeup, with the Eagles trading the disgruntled star to the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange for first and fifth-round draft picks.
While Brown’s unorthodox motivational strategies may have raised eyebrows in Philadelphia, his former teammates have expressed a sense of relief regarding the conclusion of the long-running saga.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Brown revealed that he and Eagles quarterback Hurts are now ‘not as close as we once were.’
But he maintains, ‘I believe that’s fine. There’s no bad blood, there’s actually still a lot of love. I love him, I love him to death. I want him to succeed and accomplish all the things that he wants to accomplish.’
He continued, ‘I didn’t truly understand why our friendship became… the center of everybody’s attention when it came to football… looking back on it we haven’t been as close as we were for a couple years now, but that didn’t stop anything, you know.
Newly acquired Patriots wideout AJ Brown shared insights into his relationship with his old QB
Brown said his relationship with Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is not what it once was in the past
‘We still competed, we still pushed each other, we still led the team. So, it’s just kind of strange, you know. People just got so fixated on the relationship and wanted to talk about maybe from the history or this place, but you know, that wasn’t what this was.
‘I’m gonna say it to you, I’m gonna say it on camera, I got nothing but love for him, you know. I want him to do well and accomplish everything his heart desires.’
When asked by Taylor if anything specific led to the growing rift in their friendship, Brown said, ‘Nothing happened, you know. People just grow apart.
‘Nothing happened between me and him or our families, wives, anything. Nothing like that ever happened. But life happens.’
