Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Hartman showed his appreciation for some support from the mother of a fan who couldn’t help but profess her admiration for his looks.
Hartman, the former Wake Forest and Notre Dame signal caller, is set to enter his second year in the NFL.
The 26-year-old hasn’t gotten much playing time, but has still become something of a heartthrob in the eyes of the league’s female fans thanks to his long hair and beard.
With the NFL in the middle of preseason, fans have been able to watch practices. One practice saw Hartman interact with a fan, who asked the quarterback to send her mother a message.
‘Sam, would you mind saying hi to my mom Susan? She thinks you’re super hot,’ the woman asked him.
With a smile, Hartman replied, ‘Susan, I don’t discriminate from age, but I appreciate your support.’

Hartman struggled in his preseason debut for Washington – tossing an interception
Hartman had a strong college career – being named to the All-ACC team twice in his career and passing for over 15,500 yards and 134 touchdowns across his six years.
After going undrafted in 2024, Hartman eventually inked a deal with the Commanders.
He has not yet taken a snap in an NFL game in the regular season, but he did get some time with Washington in the preseason.
Hartman completed 9-of-19 passes for 64 yards and one interception in the Commanders’ 48-18 loss to the New England Patriots.
It wasn’t a strong case to make for Hartman, who is battling Marcus Mariota and Josh Johnson for a backup spot on the roster behind starter Jayden Daniels.
The Commanders’ next game is on August 18 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
