Goodbye, crew cut, hello feathered and lethal? At least, that is what CBS is calling NFL legend and new color commentator JJ Watt’s new quaffed hairdo and it has shocked his fans.
Watt wore the short-trimmed crew cut for his entire playing career, where he came one of the elite defensive linemen of the 21st century, spending most of his career with the Houston Texans.
Now Watt’s locks are more renowned, flowing much longer than when he last put on a helmet.
It’s unclear when the change from crew cut happened with most of his fans loving the change.
Watt was on the call alongside Ian Eagle for the Pittsburgh Steelers victory over the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. A few funny moments happened as Watt commentated on dynamic plays for his younger brother and Steelers star TJ Watt.
Yet, many could not stop thinking about the change in hairstyle for Watt now that he’s the latest football legend to make the transition to the broadcaster’s booth.

‘I think his hair style is very good on him. It fits him now with nice clothes on rather than a football uniform,’ one football fan said.

‘Love the hair!’ a third added.
‘Looking good, big guy,’ a fourth continued.

Watt announced his next assignment will be the Tennessee Titans home debut with Cam Ward, as they face the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams will come to Nashville at 1-0 after defeating the Houston Texans 14-9 in Week 1.
Watt will likely draw one of the premier games of the week involving an AFC team due to being paired with Eagle on CBS.
Watt is a slam dunk to be elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027, when he becomes eligible, five years after his retirement.
Until then, him and his new hairdo will be heard on the airwaves of CBS trying to make an impact on viewers, much like Tom Brady is doing on rival Fox.
