Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson has revealed his trick to staying mostly healthy during his NFL career – using urine to treat his injuries.
The unique way of treating ailments was first discussed by Johnson back in 2016, with some taking it for a joke.
Years later, Johnson has confirmed he used his own, and his teammates’ liquid excrement, to stay off the injured list.
Johnson said eight years ago he would ‘collect warm urine from my teammates, heat it up and put my ankle in it for 30 minutes’ to disgustingly and specifically treat ankle sprains.
‘Yeah, that worked,’ Johnson admitted last week on the ‘7PM in Brooklyn’ podcast. ‘This is how I was able to collect it all at one time, right? You got team meetings in the morning, right?’
‘”Everybody, hey y’all, boy, do me a favor, boy. My ankle kind of f***ed up, I need you to all y’all to drink water at one time. So, when we break meeting, if y’all pee it’s a bucket in the bathroom.” Boom. Y’all all peeing that bucket for me.’

Johnson is one of the best wide receivers of the 21st century regardless of his urine usage
Johnson’s teammates apparently had no problems whipping out their Johnsons to help out one of the best wide receivers of this century.
The unconventional tactic definitely does not seem like the work of medical professionals or the team doctors for the Bengals, where he spent 10 of his 11 NFL seasons.
His other year in New England saw him limited in action despite the Patriots being one of the best teams in football.
It is also unknown if Johnson used urine to his benefit while making the jump to the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
Johnson has stayed relevant since retirement as a podcast host himself, currently appearing on ‘Nightcap’ alongside fellow NFL legend Shannon Sharpe.
