Hammer time for West Ham
It’s do or die for West Ham United.
Their Premier League status is on the line this afternoon; they simply can’t afford to drop points. If they do, Nuno Espirito Santo may as well start preparing for life in the Championship. Well, that’s if he even wants to stay.
The Hammers sit two points behind Tottenham in the battle for survival, who don’t play again until Tuesday, when they face fierce rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. So, if West Ham can beat Newcastle today, they will sit clear of the bottom three for at least a couple of days.
That’s easier said than done, mind. Eddie Howe’s side might not quite be the same team they used to be, but they are still a tough side to face at St. James’ Park.
Anyway, I think we have outlined the magnitude of this match enough, don’t you?
So, let’s get cracking.
