Turn craft hobbies into business opportunities

Residents in Mid and East Antrim can apply for a new support programme designed to help turn craft skills into viable businesses

The ‘Craft to Commerce’ programme, funded by the Department for Communities and delivered through the local Labour Market Partnership, will run throughout June 2026. It offers a four-week, structured programme combining practical experience with business support.

What the programme offers

Participants will get a chance to

  • develop products for sale in a real market environment
  • learn basic business and entrepreneurial skills
  • build confidence in selling and pricing their work
  • hear from successful local creatives and self-employed makers
  • take part in a final showcase event on 27 June 2026

The programme requires attendance one day a week (Fridays) during June.

Who can apply

To apply, you must be aged 18 or over, live in the Mid and East Antrim area, have the right to work in the UK and be unemployed, economically inactive, or working fewer than 21 hours per week. Places are limited.

How to apply

To apply, email your contact details, including address and postcode, to [email protected], with the subject line ‘Craft to Commerce Programme’.
