New England Patriots defensive star Christian Barmore did not divulge the reason for his benching for the first quarter of last Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Barmore, who was picked in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, did not play a snap of the first quarter of what eventually became a 32-13 victory.

After reporters asked Barmore about the situation, he responded, ‘I’ve moved on, next question. Let’s focus on the Falcons.’

The journalists pressed him further, with Barmore replying that the situation is ‘about growing’.

However, he did not reveal what led to him being punished by head coach Mike Vrabel.

Barmore did insist that he and Vrabel are on good terms: ‘That’s my guy, of course.’

Vrabel also passed on the opportunity to expand on why the star was left to sit on the bench.

‘I just had to make a decision,’ Vrabel said. ‘My job’s to protect the team. So when there are actions that I don’t feel like are commensurate with what we want to do here, I gotta make a decision. And we move on.’

After the game, Barmore did not speak with the media and chose not to address the situation until Wednesday.

Despite only playing three quarters, Barmore still led the team in quarterback pressures and logged one tackle.

Barmore and Vrabel were seen hugging each other in the tunnel after the win.

‘Just like everything else that I do — whether that’s in life, whatever — we’ve moved on, we’ve addressed it,’ Vrabel said on ‘The Greg Hill Show’ one day later on Monday.

‘And there’s no issues moving forward with me or anybody else. That’s how we have to operate.’

The 26-year-old Alabama product is in year two of a four-year, $83million extension that he agreed to in 2024.
