The New England Patriots have reached an agreement with former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs, according to multiple reports.
Doubs and the Foxborough team have agreed to a four-year deal with a maximum value of $80million.
After four seasons in Green Bay, Doubs will now likely be the No. 1 target for quarterback Drake Maye one season after the Patriots reached Super Bowl LX, barring another more significant signing.
This deal comes just a few days after the Patriots cut last season’s top pass catching target, Stefon Diggs.
Adding Doubs is a serious boost to a New England receiving corps that is very young. The former Green Bay man doesn’t add in age, but is more promising than the likes of Pop Douglas and Kayshon Boutte.
Doubs is coming off one of the best seasons in his career, having started every game for Green Bay in the regular season.

As the Packers’ second option, Doubs hauled in a career high 724 yards and averaged a career-best 13.2 yards per catch while scoring six touchdowns.
The University of Nevada product also managed eight catches and 124 yards plus one touchdown in the Packers’ lone playoff game of the season.
Across his NFL career, Doubs has 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns in the regular season along with 371 yards and two touchdowns in the postseason.
It’s likely Doubs could be used in a similar fashion to Diggs, according to ESPN’s Mina Kimes, considering the two players’ similarities as good route runners who can ‘work the middle.’
It remains to be seen if the Patriots will add to their wide receiver room in free agency as targets like Tyreek Hill, Deebo Samuel, Christian Kirk and Jauan Jennings all remain available.
