As a promo for the upcoming third season of their golf docuseries ‘Full Swing’, Netflix has shared a look into the infamous Scottie Scheffler arrest at the 2024 PGA Championship.
In the early morning hours outside the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, Scheffler was arrested for trying to access the course by going around a police blockade.
Scheffler was handcuffed and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer and three other misdemeanor crimes.
While all of the charges have since been dropped, it’s still a moment that defined last year’s PGA Tour calendar.
So naturally, Netflix included it in their latest season of the show, with Scheffler providing a testimonial about the situation.
‘First of all, I was freaking out because I somehow went from driving into the golf course to a jail cell, and I still don’t really know how that happened, exactly,’ Scheffler said in the documentary. He added, ‘I don’t think it ever really felt real.’
Netflix has included the stunning arrest of Scottie Scheffler in season 3 of ‘Full Swing’

Scheffler was arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer after he drove around a police blockade to access the Valhalla Golf Club. Charges were later dropped.

Scheffler returned to the course that day to shoot a 66. He finished T-8 for the tournament.
Also included in the documentary was body camera footage from the officer who drove Scheffler to jail. It was pretty clear that he had no idea who Scheffler was.
‘Nothing to drink this morning at all?,’ the officer asked Scheffler.
The golfer replied that he had only had mouthwash, saying, ‘I try not to drink too much before I go play golf at 8:00am.’
Later in the clip, the officer said, ‘I assume you’re pretty good if you’re playing in the PGA.’
A modest Scheffler, who was ranked No. 1 in the world at the time, said, ‘I’m alright, yeah.’
The officer then asked him if Tiger Woods is as good as everyone says he is, to which Scheffler replied, ‘He’s pretty dang good.’
Scheffler was released at 8:40am that morning and returned to the course in time to shoot a 66 on the afternoon. He finished the tournament tied for eighth.
Overall, Scheffler had a remarkable 2024 season – with nine wins, including a second Masters victory, buoying him to a FedEx Cup title.
