  • Steven Adams was caught in a hilarious hot mic moment
  • Kiwi superstar had an outstanding game for the Rockets

Houston Rockets star Steven Adams, known for his dry sense of humour, had basketball fans in stitches after a hilarious exchange following Game 6 against the Warriors.

The Kiwi center, who had an outstanding game in his side’s eight-point win, was being praised by reporters in the press room post-match.

‘Thank you, bro,’ he replied to one.

‘I just follow the game plan, defensive game plan, read, communicate.

‘It just comes down to the defensive system. It’s not like I’m going every time.

‘The boys on the ball were doing a really good job in making sure these guys throw up and off balance shot. Those are the ones you can go after.’

It was then that Adams was caught off-guard as he overheard an Aussie accent in the press room, to which he paused and laughed, ‘Oh, f–k off’.

Adams then quickly covered his mouth realising where he was and that he was surrounded by microphones.

‘He’s Australian, I had to,’ he explained to the press room.

Golden State coach Steve Kerr praised Adams, whose 31 minute contribution was exceptional.

‘Adams was fantastic tonight,’ Kerr said.

‘They controlled the game while he was out there.’

The Rockets will attempt to become the 14th team to come from 3-1 down to win an NBA playoff series.

The team that wins the series will take on Minnesota Timberwolves, who beat the Los Angeles Lakers in five games.
