Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Anthony Edwards intentionally hid assets in California to avoid child-support payments for his daughter in the state, according to the latest filing in the case obtained by The Daily Mail.

Edwards sued Ayesha Howard in his native Georgia in September of 2024 shortly before their daughter, Aubri’, was born, claiming the influencer failed to execute paperwork granting her sole custody. That December, a paternity test confirmed Edwards was the girl’s father, and he ultimately agreed to give Howard full physical and legal custody in April of 2025, although that lawsuit remains ongoing.

Howard also tried to sue the 24-year-old NBA star in her home state of California in February of 2025, only to have the complaint dismissed over jurisdictional issues.

Now, according to Howard’s latest filing in Los Angeles County, she has ‘discovered evidence’ showing he has a ‘substantial and ongoing business and financial presence’ in California. Specifically, Edwards has a limited liability company (LLC), the business hub AE Five Enterprises, a bank account in Beverly Hills, as well as registered trademarks and professional contracts with California-based companies.

And with that, Howard is asking a California court to renew her previously denied request for child support in the state.

‘This newly discovered evidence demonstrates that Respondent maintained a business, financial, contractual, and economic presence in California for approximately six years satisfying the minimum contact and purposeful availment doctrine for an out of state parent and nexus to support obligation in a child support proceeding,’ read the filing.

Howard gave birth to her child, Aubri’, in October of 2024 after being sued by Edwards

There had been reports of Edwards paying a lump sum of $1 million for 18 years of child support to Howard, but she has since denied that online rumor.

Edwards has also claimed Howard demanded $500,000 in damages and a public apology when she refused to sign an offered agreement last August.

The Daily Mail has sought comment from Edwards’ attorneys and agency, as well as Howard and her limited scope attorney.

Howard, who also shares a son with rapper Lil Baby, previously issued a statement to Us on the legal dispute.

‘I want to make it clear that my request for compensation was never tied to agreeing to any custody orders,’ she said. ‘I asked for compensation due to the substantial financial and reputational damages I’ve endured during this prolonged litigation with Anthony Edwards.’

The first pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, Edwards amassed $132 million in career earnings entering the 2025-26 season.
