Skip Bayless was slammed by NBA fans for the ‘worst tweet of all time’ on Sunday night after Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was left in agony with a lower leg injury.

Haliburton had been battling through a right calf problem during the NBA Finals, and was able to play just seven minutes in Game 7 after suffering an apparent Achilles injury early into his team’s loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

And fans were infuriated with one post from the ever-provocative Bayless, who commented on the pre-existing injury Haliburton was dealing with.

‘The Pacers brilliantly took the big-game pressure off Haliburton, who routinely no-shows, by planting the ‘injury excuse’ that the media swallowed whole,’ he wrote, as Haliburton started the game with a trio of three-pointers.

While Bayless’ remark was written before Haliburton was ruled out of the game, his post aged horribly and fans were livid with the former ESPN and Fox Sports star.

‘Truly one of the worst tweets ever. My goodness,’ one wrote.

The 25-year-old collapsed instantly and was visibly in pain, slamming his hand on the floor

‘Wow you might be the worst person to ever have a platform in the sports world,’ another added.

‘Haha holy s*** you’re a moron, this is aging like milk,’ a third chimed in.

A fourth said: ‘Have some shame man.’

And a fifth added: ‘You are such a scumbag, Skip.’

Following Haliburton’s injury, Bayless said he ‘hated’ seeing Haliburton get hurt against his beloved Thunder.

‘Even as a Thunder fan, the last thing I wanted to see was Haliburton getting hurt. The LAST.’

Haliburton’s father, John, told ESPN’s Lisa Salters during the broadcast that his son had suffered an Achilles injury.

Haliburton was later seen on crutches greeting his teammates following the painstaking 103-91 loss.

Indiana actually stayed in the game for a period of time following Haliburton’s injury, as they went into halftime up one without their point guard.

However, OKC outscored their opponents by 14 in the third quarter and the lead later ballooned to 22 in the fourth quarter as Shai-Gilgeous Alexander starred for the eventual champions.

The regular season MVP won the same honors for the Finals after his clinching performance, in which he scored 29 points, dished out 12 assists and grabbed five rebounds.

Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren also had 20 and 18 points respectively, while TJ McConnell had a valiant 16 points in 28 minutes off the bench for Indiana.

Bennedict Mathurin led the visitors with 24 points while Pascal Siakam also had 16.
