NASCAR driver Shane van Gisbergen makes revolting confession after Mexico City Cup win

Moments after Shane van Gisbergen won the NASCAR race in Mexico City on Sunday afternoon, he admitted to being sick in lead-up to the showdown.

The Kiwi left little to the imagination about what he was going through in the days and hours before his second career win in NASCAR.

He spoke to the crowd watching around the world and at the event in Mexico City when he detailed his sickness.

‘I felt pretty rubbish today, leaking out of both holes, that wasn’t fun,’ van Gisbergen said.

The 36-year-old went on to thank the people that made him feel better and back in health before the race began.

Throwing up and excreting en masse is not an abnormal sign of sickness and is typically kept to one’s self. Points to the New Zealand native for making sure everyone was on the same page about what led to his victory.

The timeline for van Gisbergen’s sickness, as well as what made him ill, is unclear. The Kiwi likely would not have traveled to the country if he was sick upon entering Mexico.

Before making the jump to NASCAR, van Gisbergen won the Supercars title on three occasions.

He also competed in ARCA, the Xfinity Series, and the NASCAR truck series as well.

The win in Mexico qualifies van Gisbergen for the NASCAR playoffs, his first time advancing in his third season in the federation.

Even if he was not at full health when taking the track in Mexico City, there is no doubt van Gisbergen feels better after the victory.
