The sister of former New York Giants player Sam Beal has issued a desperate plea for help after revealing he has been missing for the past seven months.
Beal, who was selected by the Giants in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, was last seen in July 2025 after dropping his girlfriend off at her house, his profile on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System claims.
The cornerback, 29, was supposed to use her car to drive to work, only to allegedly make his way to Virginia Beach instead. After speaking to his girlfriend and telling her he would head back, he failed to do so and hasn’t been heard from since.
‘Tomorrow makes it 7 months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother. We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends,’ Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, said on Facebook.
‘I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure.
‘I’m a Big sister and I need my brother to know that We Love You and miss you and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around.’

According to his missing persons profile, Beals ‘did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver’s license.’
His vehicle was also found with his ‘shoes and socks on the floor of the front passenger seat along with some sand on the floor.’
Essence is urging anyone with information to call the Kenwood Police Department at (616) 698-6580 or the Virginia Beach Police Department at (757) 385-4141.
Beal played two seasons with the Giants after spending three years at Western Michigan University, before opting out in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic and then being cut by New York in 2021.
In nine games for the team he registered 27 tackles, one for a loss and one pass defended.
The NFL athlete was found with a concealed weapon after being pulled over by police, who also cited him for marijuana possession and a traffic violation. He was put on probation through June 2022.
