Summary

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations to support activities that improve people’s ability to become more financially capable.

Eligibility criteria

Social enterprises, community interest companies (CICs), credit unions, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, and UK registered charities can apply.

Applicants should meet the eligibility criteria, including

  • have a total annual income of between £10,000 and £600,000
  • been established and active for at least 18 months
  • have a governing body of at least three unconnected individuals
  • have a bank account in the group’s name
  • look for funding for UK based activities

Additional information

The MSE Charity offers a small number of grants twice a year to small not-for-profit organisations based and working in the UK. The funding supports activities that improve people’s ability to become more financially capable.

Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 can be used to support activities such as

  • money management workshops
  • training volunteers to deliver workshops or provide peer support
  • upskilling staff to access financial capability training
  • provide access to financial inclusion activities for people who are disadvantaged in any way, such as by age, disability, ethnicity, or gender

How to apply

There are two funding rounds per year, winter and summer.

The first step is to take the Grant Eligibility Quiz which is now open for the summer 2025 round. Groups who have successfully completed the quiz will receive an email on Wednesday 2 July 2025 with a link to access the online application form. 

Applications open on Wednesday 2 July 2025 and close on Thursday 10 July 2025.
