Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice ‘repeatedly assaulted’ the mother of his children throughout their relationship, even while she was pregnant, a bombshell lawsuit has claimed.
The lawsuit, filed in Dallas County District Court this week, shows Dacoda Jones is seeking over $1 million in relief.
Jones alleges the Super Bowl winner has previously grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, thrown, scratched, hit and headbutted her.
The mother of Rice’s two children claims he strangled her at their home in Texas in December 2023 ‘following an escalation in violent behavior.’ The lawsuit claims that the wide receiver then continued to assault her until they eventually split in July 2025.
Rice is also accused in the complaint of throwing objects, destroying property, punching walls and breaking furniture, as well as locking Jones out in the middle of the night. It’s claimed that a number of these incidents took place while Jones was pregnant.
As a result of the alleged abuse, Jones claims she has endured multiple physical injuries, as well as ‘significant pain and suffering.’

The Chiefs told Daily Mail ‘the club is aware and remains in communication with the National Football League’, while the NFL said ‘the matter remains under review.’
Rice’s lawyer has also released a statement on the receiver’s behalf: ‘On October 9th, 2025, well after the parties’ relationship had ended, Ms. Jones stated under penalty of perjury in a sword Affidavit for Non-Prosecution that “Mr. Rice and I had a verbal argument, but he did not punch me.” We will allow the legal process to run its course and have no further comment at this time.’
Jones made a series of accusations against Rice in a gruesome social media post back in January.
She also uploaded 14 pictures and a lengthy statement on Instagram showing cuts and bruises over her body, parts of her home trashed and her clothes ripped apart.
While she did not specifically name the Chiefs player in her post, it was interpreted as an allegation against him. The Chiefs said in a statement that they were aware of the post and the NFL opened an investigation the following day. Rice did not respond.
However, within a matter of days Jones deleted her social media post where she claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse.
It comes after Rice went Instagram official with his new girlfriend Rubi Rose last week, sharing a number of loved-up pictures on Instagram on Valentine’s Day.
In July 2025, Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years’ probation for his role in a multicar crash on a Dallas highway in May 2024, after racing a friend in a Lamborghini. He was also ordered to pay $115,482 to the victims to cover medical expenses.

He was filmed fleeing the scene and later pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges – collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury.
The Chiefs failed to make the playoffs last season after enduring a miserable 6-11 campaign.
Head coach Andy Reid is expected to oversee an offseason of change but Rice, who is on a $6.5 million contract, is set to be a central part of the organization’s future.
He started the season with a six-game suspension due to his involvement in that Dallas car accident. Rice was also recovering from an ACL tear that was sustained in the previous year.
