More than 90 stretches of road in Shropshire are set to be resurfaced in the coming months as Shropshire Council continues its work to improve the county’s roads and tackle potholes.
With a further 71 stretches of road across Shropshire set to be surface dressed this spring and summer, this means more than 160 roads are set to be treated in the coming months.
The 92 sites that are to resurfaced (see list below) are located across the county and have been identified by experienced highways officers.
The programme can also be seen on the council website. Some of the work is already underway. To ensure value for money, roads that are likely to need costly repairs in the future are prioritised.
The resurfacing work will be carried out between April 2026 and March 2027 and dates will be added to the One Network interactive roadworks website once known.
David Vasmer, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for highways and environment, said:
“Improving our roads and making them safer for all road users is one of our top priorities. Our annual resurfacing and surface dressing programmes are a really important part of this and represent a significant investment in the roads across the county.
“This year’s programmes to improve our roads will greatly improve more than 160 stretches of road across Shropshire, and help to prevent potholes and other problems occurring in the future.
“I’m sure the work will be welcomed by people who use these roads and I thank people for their patience and understanding while this important work is carried out.”
Work will be carried out by Kier Infrastructure on behalf of Shropshire Council.
