This is the moment a dog is rescued from a car stranded on a creek crossing in raging floodwaters in Katherine, Northern Territory, in Australia on Wednesday 11 March.
A passing helicopter pilot dropped a police officer on top of the vehicle to help the stranded driver and passenger and then went back to retrieve their dog from the vehicle.
Footage released by the NT Emergency Service shows the officer pulling the dog onto the roof and then lifting it aboard the helicopter before flying it to safety.
