Have your say on how proposed increases to the minimum wage rates from April 2026 may impact your business and workers.

The Low Pay Commission is the independent body that advises the government on the levels of the National Minimum Wage (NMW), including the National Living Wage (NLW). The Low Commission is seeking input to shape the recommendations they will make to the government this autumn, on minimum wage rates to apply from April 2026.

Consultation addresses key areas of the minimum wage

There are nine sections to this consultation

  • impacts of the National Living Wage
  • other questions on the National Living Wage
  • lowering the age of entitlement to the National Living Wage to 18
  • experience of those on low pay over the past year
  • young people
  • apprentices
  • compliance and enforcement
  • accommodation offset
  • economic outlook

The Low Pay Commission does not expect respondents to answer all questions unless they can; they should focus on the areas that are of most concern to them and where they can provide the most comprehensive evidence.

How to respond to this consultation

You can respond to this consultation by submitting your responses using the online form or by emailing the Low Pay Commission at [email protected].

Consultation deadline

The deadline for responses to this consultation is 1159pm on Monday 30 June 2025.
