Michigan star forward Yaxel Lendeborg was taken out of Saturday night’s Final Four game against Arizona after sustaining an injury.

Roughly halfway through the game’s first quarter, Lendeborg drove the lane and appeared to twist his ankle after planting his left foot right on top of the shoe of Arizona’s Motiejus Krivas.

Lendeborg smacked the floor in pain, but managed to get up. He then doubled over in pain and was taken off the floor.

He was then seen being walked down the tunnel to the Michigan locker room for further evaluation.

Lendeborg made a return to the game, but was seen walking with a significant limp and had a towel on his head.

During a timeout, Lendeborg did not walk onto the court to huddle with the rest of his teammates due to the injury.

On the broadcast, Turner Sports said that the star was icing his injury and that he’d be re-evaluated at halftime.

The broadcast noted this was the same ankle that Lendeborg injured in the Big Ten Tournament just a few weeks earlier.

Lendeborg is the Wolverines’ leader in points and steals and was a prize transfer to Michigan after spending last season at UAB.

The timing of the injury hurt Michigan at the time. They were up 26-14 and the little positive momentum Arizona had carried them to cutting the deficit to five.

But Michigan would go on an 18-7 run to end the first half and go to the locker room with a 48-32 lead.
