The Michigan Wolverines eeked out a close victory to beat Maryland for the school’s 1,000th win in the sport – but suspended head coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t join in the revelry.
Harbaugh’s suspension amid an investigation into violating in-person scouting rules meant that he was not even in attendance for the game and had to watch from home.
Offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, who has assumed head coaching duties the past two games in Harbaugh’s place, said that he’d like to make sure the coach is included – but suggested a unique solution.
‘We need to edit coach in there,’ Moore said. ‘There’s enough technology in the world today that we can get that done.’
That’s a different proposition than the one offered by defensive back Mike Sainristil who said, ‘There’s no doubt in my mind that when we head back to this airport, he’s going to be there waiting for us. We’ll probably take 10, 15 minutes to take another picture.’
Michigan’s acting head coach, Sherrone Moore, says Jim Harbaugh should be digitally edited into pictures of the team’s victory against the University of Maryland on Saturday

Harbaugh wasn’t present at Saturday’s game – what was Michigan’s 1,000th win all-time
Harbaugh was mocked by the Maryland fans – chanting ‘Where is Harbaugh’ in the game’s second half.
But at the end of it all, the Wolverines got the last laugh – as the team just barely held on to secure their victory over the Terrapins.
Moore has guided the Wolverines to victories over Penn State and Maryland these past two weeks, and he’s set to replace Harbaugh at the helm next weekend as well – in their battle with Ohio State.
Michigan will be at home for that contest – a much needed respite from the tough road schedule they’ve played.
But the game itself won’t be an easy one. It will essentially serve as a quarterfinal to get into the College Football Playoff as there are currently five teams that are undefeated.
Harbaugh’s suspension runs out at the end of the regular season – meaning that he would be available if Michigan makes a run to the playoff.
