Former NBA star Jawann Oldham has passed away at the age of 68.
Oldham, a 7-foot center who spent a decade in the NBA, passed away on Monday according to a statement from Seattle University, where he spent four years.
The statement read: ‘Seattle University Athletics mourns the passing of Jawann Oldham, one of the most accomplished players in our men’s basketball history.
‘We extend our deepest condolences to Jawann’s family, friends, teammates and all who were touched by his life. He will forever be a part of the Seattle University Athletics family.’
Prior to his time in the NBA, Oldham enjoyed a successful college career in Seattle and scored 1,530 points, along with 965 rebounds, across 104 games.
After his impressive college career, he was drafted in the second round of the 1980 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, where he spent just one season.

Across 10 years in the NBA, Oldham made 329 regular-season appearances with eight teams
He would go on to play for the likes of the Rockets, Bulls, Knicks, Kings, Magic, Pacers, Nuggets and Lakers during his storied career in the NBA.
During his time with the Bulls, Oldham was a teammate with NBA legend Michael Jordan, who is yet to comment on the former center’s passing.
Across his 10 years in the NBA, Oldham made 329 regular-season appearances and averaged 4.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in the league.
Following his career in the NBA, Oldham continued working in basketball internationally and took on a coaching role in Japan.
He also founded basketball leagues in both South Korea and China.
