Michael Jordan and wife Yvette Prieto had one of the best seats in the house for the opening game of the NFL season in Philadelphia on Thursday night.
The NBA great was a guest of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter – the two are known to have become friends over the past couple of years.
To mark such a special guest being in attendance, Hurts debuted his Jordan 11 ‘Love Hurts’ cleats and even hit the MJ shrug after scoring his first touchdown of the night.
Cameras picked Jordan, 62, out from the crowd during a weather-enforced break, where thunderstorms kept the Eagles and Cowboys off the field for around an hour midway through the third quarter.
It also marks the second big football game Jordan has attended this week. On Monday night, he was in Chapel Hill to watch Bill Belichick’s first game as head coach of UNC – Jordan’s alma mater.
That game wasn’t quite as dramatic as the NFL season-opener at Lincoln Financial Field, which was a 24-20 four point game in the Eagles favor when thunderstorms struck – the game would remain that way. Belichick’s team, however, were blown away 48-14 by TCU on Monday.

Jordan is getting set for cameras being on him a little bit more often. The notoriously private Chicago Bulls legend is returning to the public eye as part of NBC’s coverage of the new NBA season.
In a hugely anticipated new role, Jordan’s new title as a ‘special contributor’ will see him take on a TV role covering the league for the first time since he retired in 2003.
NBC starts an 11-year deal covering the NBA when the new season begins in October.
Jordan also owned the Charlottel Hornets from 2010 to 2023, eventually selling his stake for $3billion.
He also and cofounded the NASCAR team 23XI Racing in 2020 with driver Denny Hamlin.
Jordan married wife Yvette, a model, in April 2013 and they have twin daughters together.
