Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping have been caught on hot mics discussing organ transplants and immortality whilst attending China’s Victory Day Military parade.

The pair, walking towards Tiananmen Square alongside Kim Jong Un on Tuesday (2 September), engaged in small talk that state media inadvertently aired.

Xi’s interpreter was heard saying in Russian: “In the past, people rarely lived longer than 70 years, but today they say that at 70 you are still a child.”

Following an inaudible passage, Putin’s interpreter replied in Chinese: “Human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become, and [you can] even achieve immortality”, with Xi musing that some humans may now live to “150 years old”.
