An adorable dog broke the internet this week after he longingly stared at another pooch enjoying a hot dog during a Miami Marlins game. Now, his owner has confirmed the “very good boy” got a treat of his own.
Marlins fans and their dogs flooded LoanDepot Park on Monday for the team’s “Bark at the Park” night. The broadcast caught two fans feeding their furry friend a delicious hot dog, while another pup, who didn’t have a frank of his own, stared at them with jealousy in his eyes.
MLB posted the footage on X Monday evening, where it has since amassed more than 22 million views and thousands of reposts. The Miami Marlins also joined in on the fun, sharing a “wanted” poster for the pup and promising an exciting day at the stadium if he’s found.
“Wanted: A very good boy. Reward: a dream day at [LoanDepot Park],” the team wrote Tuesday.
The campaign worked. The dog’s owner, Peter Silveira, replied to the post just hours later with details about Jonah, the six-year-old dog who stole the internet’s heart.

“Found him! Name: Jonah. Hobbies: Catching fly balls, chasing squirrels, eating ice cream. Would love to come back for a dream day @LoanDepotpark,” he wrote on X.
Silveira told WPLG he adopted Jonah from Aruba, and his favorite food is ice cream. He also confirmed that Jonah got his own treat — a smoked turkey dog — after the game.
“He’s had a smoked turkey dog, because a regular hot dog would destroy his stomach. I mean, if you guys want to come over and clean up after that, you’re more than welcome,” Silveira told the network.
“It’s pretty cool. I wasn’t ever expecting it. Everyone’s always said he’s like the greatest dog, so I guess it’s natural and he was just waiting for his moment,” he added.
The internet exploded after the MLB first shared the clip on X Monday evening. MLB writer Max Ralph called it the “greatest video I’ve ever seen,” while one user added, “Someone get the poor puppy a hot dog right now!”
“Internet do your thing (it is now my only goal in life to give this dog treats),” another user wrote.
The Independent has reached out to the Miami Marlins to learn more about the team’s plans for Jonah’s “dream day” at LoanDepot Park.
