Just two weeks after Bad Bunny put on a Super Bowl Halftime Show performance that President Donald Trump called ‘an affront to the greatness of America,’ his wife Melania Trump used a hit of the rapper’s in an Instagram post.
The Puerto Rican entertainer’s set was criticized by the President long before the performance even happened. Afterward, Trump went even harder with his hatred of the show.
But that doesn’t appear to stop Melania Trump from using Bad Bunny’s music in her social media.
She posted a gallery of images featuring the dress that she wore to her husband’s second inauguration. The dress was being added as an exhibit to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
‘This black and white masterpiece showcases America’s pure spirit of originality, superior engineering, and boundless creativity,’ Melania captioned the post.
But what drew particular interest was her choice to add the Bad Bunny song Debí Tirar Más Fotos to the post.
First Lady Melania Trump drew controversy for posting a Bad Bunny song on her Instagram
The First Lady posted a video of images from her gown from her husband’s second inaugural ball being added to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History
But she used the Bad Bunny hit song Debí Tirar Más Fotos in the post, surprising her followers
The decision to include a song from the rapper, born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, was controversial – especially considering her husband’s anger toward the musician.
Comments under the First Lady’s Instagram post highlighted that discrepancy.
‘I think ur [sic] husband doesn’t like his songs,’ one person replied. Another noted ‘the audacity to use this song.’
‘How hilarious that she’s using a Bad Bunny song,’ someone else chimed in.
Others believed that the choice to use the song may have been an intentional slight toward her husband.
‘Using a Bad Bunny song after all the uproar from MAGA? Or are you being facetious?’ someone asked. ‘I can never tell with y’all.’
‘melania what’s your game here,’ another user said.
The President’s tirade against the Super Bowl Halftime Show was posted to his account on Truth Social in the moments after the performance concluded.
Some believe this was a slight toward her husband, President Donald Trump, who was a vocal opponent of the Puerto Rican rapper’s performance before and after he took the stage
‘Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,’ Trump raged.
‘This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!’ the president complained.
Trump’s allies and supporters were so upset over the selection of the ‘Yo Perreo Sola’ performer that they organized a show of their own.
TurningPoint USA launched the ‘All-American’ Super Bowl halftime show, headlined by Kid Rock. But it wasn’t well received, only drawing 6.1million viewers.
By comparison, Bad Bunny’s act drew 128.2million viewers, making it the fourth-best watched Super Bowl Halftime Show in history.
