Come and learn about the UK Young Academy in Belfast

The UK Young Academy will host an event in Belfast to showcase their work and connect with Northern Ireland innovators and changemakers from across sectors.

The event will take place from 1230pm to 515pm on Wednesday 4 March 2026, at the Enterprise Hub Northern Ireland, Ormeau Labs, Belfast.

At the event, you will be able to hear about the upcoming 2026 UK Young Academy application round and what the Academy looks for in applicants. You will also hear from Northern Ireland-based members about their experiences and projects.

The session includes a short presentation, Q&A, networking over lunch and the chance to speak one-to-one with members of the UK Young Academy team.

Find out more about the event and register.

The event is supported by The Royal Academy of Engineering, one of seven senior partner Academies taking part in the UK Young Academy project.

Applying for UK Young Academy membership

Each year, the UK Young Academy seeks exceptional individuals – self-starters with demonstrated excellence in their field who are eager to collaborate across sectors. Those who become members get access to networks, development opportunities and a platform to contribute to major issues affecting society.

To be eligible to apply for membership, you must

  • be an early career professional (with three to 12 years of experience)
  • have a track record of excellence and leadership in your field
  • reside in the UK

UK citizens based overseas may apply, provided they can show commitment to the Young Academy and its activities.

Individuals across all key sectors of society can apply, including business, research, engineering, creative industries, law, education, healthcare, charity and emerging fields.

Applications for 2026 membership will open on 22 April to 15 July 2026.
