- Matty Johns will be on SEN Radio in 2025
- Fifth successive year on the AM airwaves
- Brother Andrew Johns won’t join him
- Siblings fell out last May over Origin views
Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has confirmed rugby league identity Matty Johns will return to the airwaves in 2025 – but there was no mention of his younger brother Andrew.
It comes after the siblings dramatically fell out in May last year when ‘Joey’ felt his brother was publicly showcasing his support for Queensland ahead of the State of Origin series.
At the time, Andrew Johns – rugby league’s 8th Immortal – was on the Blues’ coaching staff under Brad Fittler.
Matthew heaped praised on Maroons coach Billy Slater, which annoyed his younger sibling.
‘Slater’s close to the best coach in the game. You just know how he explains, how he coaches, the intricacies, the players absolutely love him,’ Fox Sports’ golden boy Matthew said at the time on SEN.
‘Queensland know exactly how they’re going to play and who they need to pick to make that happen.’
Andrew fired back: ‘Put your Maroon jersey on, you should have some at home. Just because you played four games and lost four doesn’t mean you need to s**t-bag NSW.’
Their feud continued to fester, with Matthew then barred from attending Andrew’s 52nd birthday celebrations.

Plenty of fans and pundits expected the row to blow over, but tensions remained high between them.
Eventually Jack Johns stepped in, driving over to his uncle’s house in Sydney east with his father.
The stubborn brothers hugged out their differences – but it appears not enough to convince Andrew – who is employed by Channel 9 – to return to SEN’s North Sydney studio next year.
Regardless, SEN boss Craig Hutchison was elated Johns is returning for a fifth year.
He will be a regular each Friday on the Morning Glory program as well as twice weekly on ‘The Run Home with Joel and Fletch’, which is co-hosted by Joel Caine and Fox League funnyman Brian Fletcher.
‘Matty Johns has become a cornerstone of our Friday line-up on SEN in Sydney and Queensland, and it’s fantastic to have him back,’ Hutchison said.
‘His passion for sport and his ability to entertain audiences are second to none.
‘Morning Glory’ is the perfect way to kickstart the weekend for all NRL fans, who we know can’t wait to have him back on air come early February.’
