Josh Grisetti’s official cause of death has been revealed following the actor’s tragic passing on July 10.
Grisetti died of a gunshot wound, California’s Orange County Sheriff’s Department coroner told Page Six on Thursday.
The report listed associated injuries as multiple bilateral temporal calvarial fractures and a brain injury.
The “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” star’s friend and fellow Broadway star Rob McClure previously revealed that Grisetti died by suicide on He was 44.
“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life on Friday,” McClure wrote on Instagram Sunday alongside a carousel of images of them together.
“I’m not ready to even attempt to understand. My heart is with his wife and family as they try to deal with the reality of this,” he added.
“Communities around the world will never be the same without him. We love you Josh. Just a cataclysmic loss,” McClure wrote.
Several stars penned their condolences in the comments section, including Ariana DeBose and Rachel Zegler.
Just days before his death, Grisetti had left the production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” due to “personal reasons.”
His final Instagram post was announcing that he would be stepping away from his directing duties for the show’s opening night and that his “heart [was] hurting.”
Grisetti rose to fame in 2015 when he made his Broadway debut starring as Marty Kaufman in “It Shoulda Been You.”
The following year, Grisetti solidified his Broadway career by starring as Nigel Bottom in the hit musical “Something Rotten!”
In 2023, he landed a recurring role as Ralph Emerson in the final season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
Josh is survived by his wife, real estate agent Mackenzie Grisetti, whom he married in February 2020.
