Fulham manager Marco Silva was left frustrated after he believed Crystal Palace should have had a man sent off in their FA Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday.
Silva’s side were beaten comfortably by the visitors, as Eberechi Eze, Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah all scored to hand Palace a 3-0 win at Craven Cottage.
The Eagles will face either Man City, Bournemouth, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Preston or Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Fulham will turn their attention to their bid to play Champions League football next season, as they sit four points off the top four in the Premier League table.
Silva complained after Sunday’s defeat because he thought Adam Wharton, who picked up one early yellow card for a foul on Willian in the 14th minute, should have been given a second when he collided with Rodrigo Muniz.
The Portuguese boss argued that the incident, which came before Eze’s opener in the 34th minute, was a ‘clear’ red card and that it shifted the trajectory of the game.
Fulham boss Marco Silva was furious that Adam Wharton did not get a red card on Saturday

The midfielder flew into Rodrigo Muniz and was fortunate to not get a second yellow card

Silva argued that a red would have changed the game’s trajectory, which was 0-0 at the time
‘For me it is clear, it’s a second yellow card but we are used to these kind of situations,’ Silva told ITV after the game.
‘I prefer to say we are unlucky but it has been a long story with us. Of course VAR cannot overturn this decision but you have many eyes inside the pitch, the linesman has all the angles to see it, the fourth official.
‘It is a clear second yellow card, definitely. It would have a massive impact on the game but against us it is always more difficult to see.
‘We have been unlucky in these type of situations and let’s hope it will be balanced at the end of the season.’
Had Fulham won against Palace, they would have tied their best FA Cup finish since they made the semi-finals in the 2001-02 season.
Instead, Palace are one step closer to earning a shot at redemption in the competition, after they suffered an agonising 2-1 defeat by Man United in the 2016 final.
The FA Cup semi-final draw will take place almost immediately after Sunday’s tie between Preston and Villa, which kicks off at 1.30pm (UK time).
