Manchester City are closing in on a replacement for Kyle Walker, who looks set to depart the club this month.
Mail Sport exclusively revealed that Pep Guardiola had left the 32-year-old at home ahead of the 2-2 draw with Brentford after the defender asked to leave the club.
Both Milan clubs are vying for his services and Mail Sport understands that any loan agreement could end in a two-year permanent deal at its conclusion.
The impending exit for a first-team regular necessitates a replacement, and according to Sky Italia, City are closing in on Juventus full back Andrea Cambiaso.
The 24-year-old, who has been capped 13 times by Italy, has been a mainstay in Thiago Motta’s side this term. His only absence from the line-up was as a result of an ankle injury ahead of a December draw with Venezia.
Cambiaso has mainly been fielded in a left back role for the Old Lady, though he is also capable of playing on the right side of defence as well as in more attacking positions on that flank.
