A self-described proud secular Jew, he told the ‘s Judith Moritz that making the move was a traumatic experience, as he never thought he’d leave his home.
But Richard’s mind is made up, reinforced by hundreds of abusive messages he received online after speaking publicly about his decision to leave.
Most British Jews say they have no intention of going anywhere, but Richard isn’t alone. A recent survey suggests that one in five are thinking about leaving for Israel in the next 5 years.
