  • Manchester United have already had two bids rejected for Brentford’s main man

Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo after the Brentford man reportedly made his mind up on his future.

The forward has been one of United’s most sought-after targets this summer, with two bids already rejected as Ruben Amorim looks to recruit reinforcements to his struggling attack.

The forward, who scored 20 Premier League goals for the Bees last term, has also acrrued interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Tottenham, who are now managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

United’s pursuit of Mbeumo had previously taken a hit when Spurs made their desire over a potential move known, and it left the player himself with a dilemma.

Now, though, according to The Athletic, the Cameroonian winger has made his mind up in terms of his future – telling both Tottenham and his current club Brentford, that he will only leave west London for a move to Old Trafford.

While United’s second bid – which was in excess of £60million – has been rejected, talks with Brentford continue as the Red Devils look to make a breakthrough.

Ruben Amorim and Co wish to have Mbeumo in their squad for the start of pre-season, with players due to report back to Carrington from the week commencing July 7.

Finding the back of the net proved to be one of the biggest problems for United last season and that is one of the reasons why Mbeumo is seen as such a priority signing by director of football Jason Wilcox and the rest of the footballing hierarchy.
