Police were called to Salford Shopping Precinct on Wednesday morning

A man has been taken to hospital with head injuries after an assault outside a shopping centre.

Emergency services were called to Salford Shopping Precinct at 05:10 BST on Wednesday morning to reports of an assault, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody.

GMP said the victim was in hospital and his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
